ISO Certified Medical Imaging Equipment Company? It IS a Big Deal
When you see “ISO Certified” on a medical imaging company’s website or marketing materials, you may ask yourself 3 questions:
- What does that mean exactly?
- Is it really that important?
- Can’t just about anyone get this certification?
What Does ISO Certification Mean?
When most companies commit to taking a year or two to pursue a certification like ISO (International Organization for Standardization), one has to have some level of admiration. The fact is, these companies have committed time and money to elevate the level at which their business is operating.
ISO certified simply means that the company is working on good quality management by putting processes in place to better serve their customers and work more efficiently.
ISO certification is not easy, especially if the company has no processes or procedures in place. The task of becoming certified can take a couple of years and usually means hiring a consultant, which could be rather costly. It is not a certification that you can get in 24 hours over the internet.
Our own ISO certified company, Block Imaging Parts & Service, has learned how to better serve customers by seeking out areas needing refinement and proactively updating processes, continually improving the way we do business.
So if I were you, I would sit up and pay attention when a company is advertising ISO certification. It could mean the difference between working with a company who is just “winging” it, or a company who really understands the value of quality and customer satisfaction!
